Staffing Options

Temporary
Relieve temporary staffing shortages due to seasonal demand, vacation, illness or special projects by using temporary employees.  Temporary positions are billed at an hourly rate.  Payroll taxes and workers compensation insurance are included in the hourly rate.

Temp-To-Hire
Our Temp-To-Hire option gives you a chance to evaluate potential employees prior to making an offer of employment. The employee remains on A-Star's payroll until you are ready to make an offer.   An employee who has satisfied the 'conversion period' may be converted to your payroll at no additional charge.

Direct Hire Placement
Our Direct Hire option allows you to acquire qualified personnel for immediate hire.  We handle the recruiting process, conduct interviews, manage background investigations and skills testing. Direct Hire services are usually billed as a percentage of starting annual salary.


Our Screening Procedures

The Application Process
Applicants are required to provide written information about work history, skills, educational background and references.   Each applicant is then interviewed by one of our staffing managers to gain greater insight into their 'soft skills' (personality traits, social graces, ability with languages, friendliness and ability to fit into the workplace culture).

Applicant Testing
A-Star applicants are tested using a combination of proprietary and commercial grade skills tests.

Background Investigations
We go the 'extra mile' to verify professional references.  Additionally, we have an established relationship with Choicepoint ScreenNow to perform criminal background checks, social security checks and educational verifications as requested by the Client.  Drug Screening services are also available upon request (note: charges for Choicepoint services and Drug Screening services are billed to the Client at our cost).
